VIRTUAL VEHICLE – Automated Driving
The VIRTUAL VEHICLE Research Center is an international platform for research and development in the automotive and rail industry, located in Graz/Austria. The Center addresses the vehicles of tomorrow, which should be safe, environmentally-friendly and more and more connected with its surrounding. Hence, cutting-edge research and technology development is essential, and simulation is a key opening completely new possibilities. VIRTUAL VEHICLE provides a close linkage of numerical simulation and experimental validation, and offers comprehensive system simulation up to the complete vehicle.
VIRTUAL VEHICLE presents its unique open research platform. Its well-defined and open interfaces allow the integration and evaluation of new sensor technologies and artificial intelligence algorithms.
Looking at the technology roadmap the next tech- and mind-shift challenge is autonomous driving. In this showcase VIRTUAL VEHICLE presents an electric vehicle with ADAS functions implemented. An ADD Onboard Monitor shows what HD cameras, radar sensors and object analysis detect. In addition it demonstrates how Advanced Control, Driving Monitoring, Collision Detection and Self-Diagnostic work.
