It offers opportunities to meet true experts in their field, as well as national authorities and people from the European Commission services,” says Josef Affenzeller, Director of Research Coordination AVL.
ALICE is the European Technology Platform that has been set up to develop a comprehensive strategy for research, innovation and market deployment of logistics and supply chain management innovation in Europe. For Fernando Liesa, the Secretary General of ALICE, TRA2018 in Vienna is a must for industry participants and researchers involved in transport and logistics, mobility of people. “TRA2018 is special by its location as Vienna is a beautiful city with good public transport and very well connected to the whole of Europe”, he enthuses.
The European Transport Research Alliance (ETRA) complements existing structures for transport research and innovation provision in Europe by bringing a multi-modal and research-led forum which will contribute to important debates on the future of European transport. The TRA team spoke to three key partners of ETRA who describe the uniqueness of TRA2018. “TRA2018 will manage to bring together the multiple modes of transport, including for the first time the aviation sector, and provide a general view of all forms of transport without losing the concrete aspects of dealing with specific areas of transport”, said Armando Carillo, Secretary General of EURNEX e.V.
